The Ministry of Public Health announced its intention to provide vaccination for the age group between 12-15 years in Qatar with the Corona vaccine (Covid-19) produced by Pfizer – Biontech, and the Ministry announced its intention to start making vaccinations available to people over the age of 30 years after a short period from the Eid al-Fitr holiday. It also confirmed the extension of the validity period of the quarantine exemption for people who are vaccinated with approved vaccines in the State of Qatar from six months to nine months.
The announcement that children aged 12-15 years will be given the opportunity to receive the Pfizer – Biontech vaccine comes shortly after Pfizer published the results of a study it conducted proving that the mentioned vaccine is safe and effective to a large extent in preventing infection with the Coronavirus (Covid-19). For the age group 12-15 years, and after the approval of the US Food and Drug Administration to vaccinate children between the ages of 12-15 years in the United States of America with the Pfizer – Biontech vaccine.
In addition to the new amendment that included the aforementioned age group, and in light of a series of global studies conducted on the effectiveness of the vaccine, the Ministry of Public Health also announced the extension of the validity period of the quarantine exemption for people who are vaccinated with the approved vaccines in the State of Qatar from six months to nine Months from today, and this extension means that people who received the vaccine will have a longer period to take advantage of the additional special features mentioned in the plan
The announcement of these developments comes during the week in which the State of Qatar announced that more than half of the country’s population eligible to receive vaccination had received at least one dose of the vaccine, and the announcement of its plan to gradually lift the restrictions imposed due to the Corona pandemic (Covid-19).
